Xbox Game Pass teases the addition of a mystery game in December.

The Xbox Game Pass Twitter account posted an image (below) of an email exchange mockup that indicates a significant month in store for the subscription service.

“We’re not slowing down for December,” the post read. “EA Play is coming to PC and we have a ton more games planned!

“We’ve even included REDACTED, which our fans won’t stop mentioning (that’s why I sent you this .gif with the sinister red light).”

The tweet fueled speculation that Remedy’s Control would be available on Game Pass.

The supernatural action game world is littered with collectible messages with redacted information, while a red light is used to visually represent the title antagonist, the Hiss.

Xbox boss Phil Spencer said in December 2019 that Control is coming to the Xbox Games Pass, although publisher 505 Games has subsequently denied that is the case.

The title was later released for Sony’s cloud gaming service PlayStation Now.

In September, Microsoft used a Tweeter to the one above to tease Doom’s Xbox Game Pass release shortly before its official announcement.

VGC’s Control magazine called the game “Remedy’s finest creation since the original Max Payne.”
