The Xbox Live online platform for console gamers suffered a major outage Thursday afternoon, with gamers around the world on Twitter to report connection problems.

But later that day the issues seemed to have been resolved. Around 6:30 p.m. PT, the The Xbox support team tweeted that users should once again be able to log in, make purchases, and join chat sessions. On Friday morning, the Xbox status page listed all online features as operational.

The outage appears to have started shortly after noon PT on Thursday. “We are aware that users may not be able to sign in to Xbox Live at this time,” the company’s support account says. tweeted Thursday afternoon. “Our teams are currently studying to resolve this problem.”

Users can also have issues purchasing content and group chat also, Xbox Support tweeted later Thursday.

This isn’t the first Xbox crash in recent memory – the platform saw a tough patch in 2020, with several breakdowns as players flocked to the platform for entertainment in the middle of the pandemic.
