A new trailer has been uploaded, giving us more information on Ninja Theory’s groundbreaking visuals Project: Mara.

Last year we heard about the experimental Ninja Theory title called Project: Mara – the developer revealed the game as a special game that will explore “new ways of telling stories” and be based on a “real world”. and a “well-founded representation” of mental terror.

Now, in a new trailer, we’ve heard a bit more about the game and seen some of the stunning photo-realistic visuals Tameem Antoniades and his team are creating for the mysterious title.

Perhaps the biggest reveal of this new trailer is that the whole game takes place in one apartment – an apartment that really exists! – and the team spent a lot of development time recreating this apartment in a photorealistic way.

The dimensions of the apartment, the textures exhibited in the place, the lighting… all of this was reproduced by the development team using cutting-edge technology. And you can see the results for yourself.

Working with Clear Angle Studios, Ninja Theory has managed to use a “whole apartment point cloud” down to “every little detail” to create the digital representation of the real space shown in the trailer shown here. -above.

From there, the team started using procedural tools to start adding ‘signs of life’ to the apartment – dust, wear and tear, and other more organic elements were layered on top of this. realistic replication to add that “ elusive sense of place ”. Overly sanitized gaming environments can sometimes be missing.

We still don’t know much about the mysterious game outside of its “goal of recreating the horrors of the mind as accurately and realistically as possible,” but at least we know it’s going to sound damn good because it life scares us. .

Ninja Theory is also currently working on Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2 and joined the Xbox Game Studios collective in 2018.
