Xbox Series X gamers just got a huge upgrade, that is, as long as they are part of the Xbox Insiders program.
It is now possible to stream a user’s Steam library through GeForce Now while using the Xbox Series X / S’s Microsoft Edge browser. The trick should be available to standard Xbox One users as well.
This feat was first discovered by YouTuber Joe Chip (h / t GamesRadar +). He found that people who are in the Xbox Insiders program, and more specifically in the “Alpha Skip-Ahead” level of the preview program, will have access to the latest version of the Microsoft Edge browser. This latest update allows users to play GeForce Now through a browser.

According to Chip, this is not a perfect solution for playing your PC library on Xbox. Firstly, only games that support the controller will work. He tried to get Quake II RTX to work, only to find that it only supports keyboard and mouse. Oddly, while Edge allows keyboard use, there is no mouse functionality at the moment.
Chip also found the overall process to be finicky. Some games that support the controller would work, but sometimes it wouldn’t. This would force Chip to restart Edge and try again.
For example, in one case, Chip tried to get Wreckfest to work. Its first attempt caused Microsoft Edge to crash. But when he tried again it was working with all the features of the controller.
Since GeForce now streams games over the internet, to keep things running as smoothly as possible, it’s best to have consoles connected over Ethernet. For Chip, he found the overall responsiveness to be adequate for the gameplay. Of course, since Wreckfest is natively available on Xbox One, it’s best to play it rather than stream it.
At this time, neither Microsoft nor Nvidia have announced native support for GeForce Now.
