Xbox Two Release Date NEWS – Does the new Microsoft console have an advantage over PS5? | Game | Entertainment

The Xbox Two and PS5 are expected to face a battle in 2020, as Microsoft and Sony prepare to unveil their next-generation consoles.

And the new-generation Xbox Two could have a major advantage over the PS5, as analysts prepare for a much tighter console war.

According to Tom Wijman, an analyst at Newzoo, the different priorities of Sony and Microsoft could lead to a dead end.

Wijman thinks Microsoft's xCloud technology could open the company's games to more people.

"Strategies do not necessarily target the same audience, so there certainly exists a scenario in which both work," he told Inverse.

"[Gamers don’t have] use virtual reality or cloud gaming – there are many scenarios in which players use both.

"Even more than Microsoft games will be available with or without an Xbox console, it will be easier than ever for players to play both PlayStation and Microsoft games."

Wijman claims that cloud games have the potential to reach a wider audience, although Sony's focus on quality content allows the company to play a leading role.

"Sony's strategy is to offer quality content to people who like to play their games, so investing more in VR is just an extension of that," he continues.

"Microsoft is focusing more and more on services rather than hardware, and cloud games are just the distribution platform that can reach the largest audience."

The Xbox Two, aka Xbox Scarlett, is expected to be revealed by Microsoft at its E3 2019 conference in June.

Microsoft is also expected to introduce Halo Infinite and the new version of Gears of War during the show.

With Microsoft acquiring studios like Obsidian and Ninja Theory, the company is also expected to unveil a new version or two.

But Xbox Two is the most excited, especially with rumors that it will be even more advanced than the PS5.

The Microsoft E3 press conference will take place on Sunday 9 June at 21:00 UK time.
