Xiaomi admits her transparent Mi 9 does not show the real parts

Last year, Xiaomi released an attractive and transparent version of its Mi 8 phone, the Mi 8 Explorer Edition, which claimed to have a transparent bottom to reveal the internal parts of the phone. There was just one problem: the "parts" were fake, revealing to be just a cool looking plate covering the real parts (and much less photogenic).

Today, Xiaomi announced that it would offer an identical edition of the Mi 9 Explorer Edition for the next Mi 9, but there is one crucial difference: Xiaomi founder and CEO Lei Jun admitted that internal "components" are a thin CNC-cut aluminum sheet that looks like a stylized version of the parts, via Android font.

This is a good change from Xiaomi and it is good to see the company more transparent about what is inside the transparent phone. Because once you've put aside the chicane of last year's model, it really looks great from a visual point of view (even if it's not really what the interior looks like. 'a phone.)
