Xiaomi’s Mi 11 Ultra has a small screen over its unusually large camera bump.

Xiaomi released all digital stops on Monday to show off its latest smartphone crown jewel, the Mi 11 Ultra, as the Chinese company first launches a Mi Ultra flagship phone to the world. The Mi 11 Ultra, announced alongside the Mi 11 Lite and Mi 11 Lite 5G at a virtual multi-hour event on Monday, is packed with the kind of high-end specs you might expect from one of the most popular Android phones. in sight. from 2021.
But its standout feature is a second screen, an even more unusual feature considering the Mi 11 Ultra isn’t a foldable phone.
There is of course a screen on the front – a 6.81-inch AMOLED panel. But there’s also a second small screen located on the huge camera bump, to the right of the three rear cameras. This screen takes the form of 1.1-inch AMOLED, which Xiaomi says is useful for information and alerts such as battery life, time, and incoming calls if the phone is facing down. More importantly, it displays selfie previews, which means you can rely on the Mi 11 Ultra’s three “professional-grade” rear cameras to take selfies.

The Mi 11 Ultra’s rear camera module consists of a 50-megapixel main sensor as well as a 48-megapixel wide-angle lens and a 48-megapixel periscope-type telephoto lens. The text on the gargantuan camera bump lists “120x”, which outperforms Samsung’s signature 100x spatial zoom feature seen on the latest Ultra versions of the S20, S21, and Note 20. Plus, it features a 10x optical zoom, making the Mi 11 Ultra a real zoom king.
As you’d expect from a flagship, the Mi 11 Ultra also has a top-notch spec list: a crystal-clear display; the fastest Android processor on the market, Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 888; a large 5,000 mAh battery; a set of stereo speakers co-developed by Harman Kardon; and a fast charge support trifecta.
Xiaomi has yet to announce pricing outside of China, but the 256GB version, which is the internationally launched model, will sell for 6,499 yuan (around $ 990, £ 715, or AU $ 1,295). For details, see the specification table below.
