Xiaomi’s first phone without its iconic Mi brand in the west could be the Xiaomi 11T series after company confirms XDA-Developers that he was going to remove the “Mi” mark from future versions. The 11T series of smartphones will be the mid-cycle refresh of the Mi 11 series, although the company is obviously abandoning the “Mi” part of it. Still, the concept is the same and it’s something a lot of companies have done. The first phone to launch without the Mi brand is the Xiaomi Mix 4, although it’s only in China for now.

Another flagship of the company is the Xiaomi 11T series, with the Pro variant having 120W fast charging capabilities, a 5,000mAh battery and a 120Hz AMOLED panel. Xiaomi also appears to be preparing for a device’s release. Standard 11T, powered by a MediaTek chipset.

Mi 10T Pro and Mi 10T have done quite well in markets like India, thanks to their high-end design and incredible value for money. While the global chip shortage means Xiaomi might not be able to hit the same prices as last year, the Mi 11T series will likely be cheaper than some of the more premium flagships on the market. Xiaomi is now the world’s leading smartphone maker, which it has reached thanks to fantastic devices like the Mi 10T Pro and Mi 10T.

The FCC certification of the Xiaomi 11T (via GizmoChina) revealed the back diagram of the phone, along with the 5G bands it will support. It runs MIUI 12.5 and supports NFC, as well as N5, N7, N38, N41, N66, N77 and N78 5G bands. It was expected that he Probably launch with MIUI 12.5, but the addition of NFC is welcome and may not necessarily have been a guarantee.

We’ve also seen UK retailer SmartTeck (via MySmartPrice) apparently confirm the colors that will be available, although the price itself is not necessarily correct. The Xiaomi 11T and Xiaomi 11T Pro will apparently be available in the following color and storage variants, according to the listings, and are the same for both models.

  • Meteorite Gray (8GB RAM + 128GB / 256GB Storage)
  • Moonlight White (8GB RAM + 128GB / 256GB Storage)
  • Celestial Blue (8GB RAM + 128GB / 256GB Storage)

Meanwhile, an NBTC filing has confirmed that the naming convention will effectively remove the “Mi” nickname from this particular device, as the authorized trade name for the Pro model is “Xiaomi 11T Pro”. While obviously this doesn’t refer to the non-Pro variant, for consistency’s sake it’s very likely that the company will name the non-Pro variant the same.

Finally, the company also announced that it will host a launch event on September 15, although it has given no indication of which products will actually launch. It is currently said to be the launch event where we will see the 11T series, and that would make sense as this is the most important device Xiaomi is expected to launch soon.

Overall, the Xiaomi 11T series is just around the corner, and the Pro variant in particular seems to have some pretty powerful specs. Not much is known about the regular 11T yet, but it looks like the series itself is set to undergo some major upgrades soon, especially in the charging department with the inclusion of 120W charging.
