The Yankees catch a plane on Corey Kluber.
The two-time AL Cy Young Award winner has agreed to an $ 11 million deal that brings him to the Bronx, Post’s Joel Sherman confirmed on Friday, pending a physical exam.
Kluber held a showcase on Wednesday after two injury-filled seasons placed question marks around him. The training, held at a facility in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., Was led by Yankees Health and Performance Director Eric Cressey.
Sources told the Post that Kluber threw 89-91 mph while throwing 30 pitches in front of about 25 teams, including the Mets.
The 34-year-old right-hander has made eight starts in the past two seasons, losing most of 2019 – his final season with the Indians – to a broken right arm and suffering shoulder problems after a round with the Rangers.
Kluber worked with Cressey and Yankees pitching coach Matt Blake in Cleveland. He will challenge a spot in a rotation that includes ace Garret Cole and several question marks.
