Yankees complete sweep by beating Giants 11-5

Like many recent victories of the Yankees, it has not always been good, but the work has been done. The Yankees often ran early and comfortably held their own. It was not Domingo German's best start, but he kept the Giants batters at bay all day. The bullpen followed the German with a nice collective performance, but the big story of the day could be Gio Urshela and DJ LeMahieu, both of whom left the match with injuries. Let's summarize.

Dereck Rodriguez has struggled today and the Yankees have quickly taken the advantage. He began to hang a little too much on his curve and the Giants took advantage of it. A walk and four hits scored four and after six, the Yankees led 8-4. It was also an excellent performance by the Yankee. After the sixth chaotic run, Jonathan Holder calmed the situation with an appearance in three out of three, one in three in seven, with two strikeouts. Despite a walk and an unstable order, Tommy Kahnle added two strikeouts in the eighth.

Adam Ottavino was warming up in the pen, but after the Yankees added three more points in the ninth, Joe Harvey came to finish the match. Apparently, X-rays on LeMahieu's knee were negativebut if an IL relay is appropriate is not yet clear. If an injury was not serious enough, the injury forced Gio Urshela to leave the match at the top of the fifth. Urshela was obviously in pain after taking a step on the wrist. X-rays on his wrist was also negative.

Let's hope that negative x-rays mean that neither LeMahieu nor Urshela should go on the IL. The Yankees have no more back in their list of 40 players and to be able to call a minor player, the Yankees must give up a player or put a player in period of 60 days. This is certainly not a list that inspires a lot of confidence. Losing a player would hurt, but two would kill. We will all have to wait and see, I guess.
