Jay Bruce made a nice play on first base to throw Cedric Mullins home in the opening leg of Tuesday’s 7-2 win over the Orioles at the stadium, then hit his first home run as a Yankee with a shot in the right field. line to open the second round.

“I don’t necessarily need to aim for that,” he said. “The risk is not necessarily worth the reward for me. I aim for the cannon.
