New York Yankees third baseman Phil Nevin came under heavy criticism on Tuesday night when he signaled Aaron Judge to return home amid a close game against the Red Sox from Boston.
The game took place in the sixth inning with Judge first and Giancarlo Stanton at home. Stanton struck a towering shot from the Green Monster. The Red Sox played it perfectly with their relay and kicked Judge out of a house. The piece sent Twitter into a frenzy and put Nevin in the spotlight.

Nevin told the New York Post that he thought he was right in making the aggressive gesture.
“There were a lot of factors. I saw the low throw [from center fielder Kiké Hernandez]. It was also offline. I took into account the wet surface, which ended up being the disappearance [of the play], because it was a quick jump in [Xander] The Bogaerts glove. He had a great game of baseball and pitched at home, ”he said.
He said he made a “game to win the game” and it didn’t work.
ESPN’s Alex Rodriguez slammed Nevin from the broadcast booth. The former All-Star wasn’t going to hear it from the former Yankees star.

Yankees starter Gerrit Cole was hit for a few points and left the game in the third inning.
