Yashiro Nanakase was revealed for King of Fighters 15 in the latest trailer released by SNK. We get a good look at its gameplay in the new trailer.
Yashiro made his debut in The King of Fighters ’97. He hasn’t been playable in a King of Fighters title since The King of Fighters 2002: Unlimited Match, so seeing his return in King of Fighters 15 is quite a treat.
During one of the King of Fighters tournaments, the Orochi blood in Yashiro awoke. He then worked dutifully to gather energy from the fighters in an attempt to resuscitate Orochi.
Eventually, Yashiro and Shermie ended up committing suicide to transfer his energy to Chris, who then acted as Orochi’s host. The three sacred treasures – Kyo, Iori and Chizuru – then worked together to close Orochi.
Verse’s defeat in King of Fighters 14 has apparently brought many characters to life, like Yashiro Nanakase. This provides a possible explanation as to why Chizuru returned as a playable character in King of Fighters, and why Kyo and Iori are now working together on Team Sacred Treasures.
