Age of Calamity gets a makeover
Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity came out, and as expected, it elicited a reaction from all of you in the community.
I expected performance issues to be a problem for many, but many of you enjoy the new take on the story in addition to the changes to the classic. Warriors formula. Well, a lot of people experience it because it has shipped three million copies and has become the most popular. Warriors game at night.
But I don’t want to stop there. While the DLC seems inevitable, there’s a lot of potential here with Age of Calamity add-ons, and hopefully see some of the hardcore endgame content from the original eventually. Hyrule Warriors. Oh, and another entry, of course, potentially related to Breath of the Wild 2.
Before it all (probably) happened, the folks at Nintendo Wire gave us a glimpse of what might be in their Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity demake. Done in the style of the Game Boy Color era, this is a cute little mockup that looks really fun to play! Just about everything from the minimalist intro that conveys the key elements of the true opening cutscene, to the gameplay itself is fantastic.
Things like this immediately make me reach for my GBA collection! Good old SP is never far from my desk.
