Yoshi's Island On Switch corrects the problem encountered in the SNES Classic release

If you have started the new SNES application from Nintendo Switch Online, you may have already given Yoshi Island a fresh spin. The 1995 Classic is now available at no additional cost to Switch Online subscribers – and we highly recommend you to dive into it.

Now, we would not mind, but it turns out that the version run on Switch corrected a small problem that had been found in the same game on the SNES Classic console. You see, in the original title of SNES, if the player touches a Fuzzy (floating white things), a strange pixelated effect is displayed on the screen when you enter a disoriented state. Oddly, on the SNES Classic, this effect did not seem to work properly, the game just flashing for a moment instead.

We initially imagined that the SNES games on Switch would be the same emulations as on the SNES Classic, but that does not seem to be the case. The island of Yoshi on switch works as the original with a perfectly intact effect. You can see all this in action in this video from the GameXplain team.

You learn something every day, we guess!
