You can no longer play Battleborn as Take-Two shuts down online servers

Battleborn PS4 PlayStation 4

Do you remember Battleborn? Gearbox’s response to Overwatch was a similar hero shooter with flamboyant characters, but it failed to spread in the same way. When it launched in 2016, it received fairly positive reviews, but didn’t have much of an impact with consumers, and publisher 2K Games couldn’t generate any real enthusiasm.

The game was kept alive with updates until about a year later, and in 2019 it was withdrawn from sale on digital stores. Since then things have slowly slowed down until a possible server shutdown. Yesterday (January 31, 2021) was the last day you could log in and play Battleborn. Now, with the online support officially ended, it’s a game lost in time. It is no longer playable in any way.

It’s a sad story, but unfortunately not all games can capture the moment like Overwatch or Fortnite did. The upside is that Gearbox has had a lot more success recently with Borderlands 3, so we’re sure it’s not too saddened by that. Forward and up.
