A routine traffic stop nearly landed Young Dolph behind bars. The Memphis rapper was driving his G-Wagon Mercedez-Benz to Atlanta when he saw flashing lights behind him. He was told that he was arrested because he was driving without wearing his seatbelt. However, when Dolph lowered the window pane to talk to the agents, they claimed that there was an overwhelming smell of marijuana.

It was reported that Dolph, his real name Adolph Thornton, Jr., as well as his passengers, had all been handcuffed and invited to sit on the sidewalk while police searched the rapper's car. They looked through everything, but the officers were unable to find anything incriminating, so the men were free to leave. Dolph even managed to beat the seatbelt while the officers refused him a ticket and let the rapper warn him.
