YouTube apps on Fire TV, Prime Video on Chromecast and Android TV

Two years ago, Google downloaded the YouTube application of Amazon Fire TV. Since the two companies exchanged "jokes" for almost two years, it was the customers who suffered the most, but both companies issued a joint press release containing an important announcement. On the one hand, the official YouTube app will be available for Amazon Fire TVs. In return, Amazon makes its Prime Video service available on Chromecast and Android TVs.

You will enjoy YouTube on your Amazon Fire TV later this year. The main YouTube app will arrive in the coming months, while the YouTube TV app, Google's subscription TV service, and YouTube Kids, will arrive by the end of 2019.

We're excited to be working with Amazon to launch official YouTube apps on Fire TV devices around the world. With our flagship YouTube experience on Amazon Fire TV, our users have even more ways to watch the videos and creators they like – Heather Rivera, global product partner manager at YouTube

We're excited to be able to install the Prime Video app on Chromecast and Android devices, and give our customers convenient access to the shows and movies that they love – Andrew Bennett, Global Business Development Manager for Prime Video
