YouTube users across the United States reported an outage on the popular video-sharing platform Wednesday night.
Google, YouTube’s parent company, did not specify the cause of the outage. Google said the outage was over at 9:13 p.m. ET
“If you are having trouble watching YouTube videos right now, you are not alone. Our team is aware of the issue and is working on a fix. We will follow up here with any updates,” said Google in an update earlier in the evening.
YouTube users who went to the website and attempted to watch a video found that the videos could not be played.
The Downdetector.com crash reporting website said nearly 300,000 users reported outages as of 7 p.m. ET.
