YouTube Music becomes an integration of Waze

If you've already doubted that Google would put Play Music to rest, here's another proof. Google's popular navigation app, Waze, has added YouTube Music to its list of app integrations, while Play Music has never enjoyed this luxury.

YouTube Music is Google's new streaming music service, with which the company is hoping to find a significant place in streaming, dominated by bands like Spotify and Apple Music.

YouTube Music joins Spotify, Deezer, iHeartRadio, Pandora and NPR One applications, which integrate Waze to easily control music playback while driving. However, the new YouTube Music feature of the Navigation app is apparently only available to premium subscribers, as MobileSyrup have noticed. The current subscription starts at $ 11.99 a month, with a free three month trial.

The activation of YouTube Music in Waze allows you to pause, play and jump songs without leaving the navigation interface because the player takes a reduced form and is displayed on the map.

Integration is spreading to Waze in Brazil today, while other regions will do so "the next weeks."

"We are very excited that YouTube Music is part of the Waze family of audio players," said Adam Fried, head of global partnerships at Waze. "We always want to make sure our users get the best possible experience in the car, and by now giving them access to YouTube Music's vast catalog, they'll always have access to their favorite tracks and playlists on the go."
