The first information that YouTube Originals could be free by 2020 appeared about a year ago. Last May, YouTube confirmed that its original programs would be available for free for everyone, not just premium paid members.
Well, that moment has come as YouTube has just confirmed that the originals will be free to watch from next month. The original series, movies and events from YouTube will be available for free from September 24, 2019, but the viewing experience differs depending on whether you own a YouTube Premium subscription or not.
If you're a premium paid member, you'll benefit from an ad-free viewing of YouTube Originals, access to all available episodes of a series from the first broadcast, the ability to download YouTube Originals for offline viewing and exclusive access to bonus content including director's cuts and additional scenes of original YouTube, if any.
Non Premium members will have to wait until each episode of a series is made public. In addition to that, they will see ads while watching these shows and only certain episodes can be streamed at any time.
