YouTube Streamer Valkyrae May Shut Down Rust Offline TV Server If Mourning Continues

Streamer Valkyrae discusses the possibility of shutting down the popular OfflineTV server for Rust after grief issues.

While Twitch may have some healthy moments as viewers who may see Pikachulita being offered to live on her stream, the popular streaming platform can also be a hot bed for drama and controversy. With a hobby as massive as gaming, there are sure to be some issues that arise when some of Twitch’s most popular influencers come together.

This recent controversy surrounds Rust, a popular survival game and its server hosted by OfflineTV, a dedicated group of content creators who focus on prank videos and vlogs, as well as game content. This particular server is frequently used by streamers for present their content, where it was recently the source of the drama following the induction of xQc, a popular streamer that Shroud said would cause the server to implode.

Valkyrae, who hosts the server, suggested that it should eventually shut down the server after a recent conflict involving xQc and a lesser-known streamer, Ash_on_lol. During a session of Rust, xQc pestered Ash for not being as helpful as he expected, prompting Ash to respond and demand that he be nicer to her. Sadly, shortly thereafter, Ash received death threats from some xQc fans, with some even suggesting suicide. Since then, xQc has apologized for the incident, but the damage could be too far if Valkyrae decides to shut down the server in response to his actions.

Shroud has another fix with him suggesting that xQc is simply banned from the server, but whether or not Valkyrae intends to do so is pending. Valkyrae apologized to her friends who didn’t have fun playing the server, although she did mention that she herself enjoys the warmth and chaos of the server despite the negativity that was at the heart of the matter.

Shroud isn’t the only streamer to have openly released xQc and its label. Dr Disrespect also slammed the Quebec-based streamer for playing the cartoon tower defense game Bloons.

Currently, it’s unclear whether Valkyrae will end up resetting or shutting down the server, although it is possible that she will end up creating specific safe zones on the server for players looking for less dramatic gameplay. Rust is currently one of the most watched games on Twitch, so removing the server altogether could definitely hamper streamers who depend on it for their streams.

Rust is available for PC, Mac and Linux platforms.
