YouTube temporarily bans uploading new content to Trump’s channel

“After consideration, and given concerns about the continued potential for violence, we have removed new content posted to Donald J. Trump’s channel for violating our policies. He now has his first warning and is temporarily barred from upload new content for a * minimum * of 7 days, ”YouTube said in a statement on Twitter.

“Given the lingering concerns about violence, we will also be turning off comments on President Trump’s channel indefinitely, as we have done for other channels where security concerns can be found in the comments section.”

The move comes days after Twitter banned Trump from his platform altogether, a startling move that has angered conservatives in the United States, as well as critics around the world.

YouTube did not specify the nature of the content that prompted Tuesday’s action. According to CNN Business, it was a video promoting violence.

The video-sharing website recently pulled the former White House chief strategist Steve bannonStephen (Steve) Kevin BannonYouTube Removes Steve Bannon’s Podcast Channel Over Fake Election Claims. It’s my wife and I and the federal agents’ MOREPodcast “War Room” from its platform, citing failure to follow its guidelines.

Recent actions by social media companies follow the deadly riots on Capitol Hill last week that were blamed on Trump by members of both sides.
