Yuengling beer spreads to Texas as first westward growth movement

Yuengling is coming to Texas this year.

GM Yuengling & Son has announced that the first state in its westward expansion will be Texas, as it partners with Molson Coors to brew its beers in Lone Star State.

Yuengling is the oldest brewery in the United States. The Pottsville, Pennsylvania-based brewer currently distributes its beer in 22 states, from Massachusetts to Louisiana.

Last fall, GM Yuengling and Molson Coors announced their collaboration to expand Yuengling’s availability to other states under the banner of their new company Yuengling.

“We have heard from consumers across the country who are delighted to enjoy our beer, which is why we are proud to announce that Texas will be the first western state in which we expand,” Wendy Yuengling, head of the ‘administration officer, said in a written statement.

Yuengling expects its beers to be available in the Lone Star State from fall 2021.

Molson Coors will brew Yuengling’s beers locally in Texas at its Fort Worth brewery.

“We work hard to ensure that our recipes and brewing traditions are met to our high quality standards,” said Wendy Yuengling. “We have passionate Yuengling fans in Texas, so we’re excited to finally bring them the merchandise.”

Yuengling expects its beers to hit retailers in Texas this fall.

Gavin Hattersley, President and CEO of Molson Coors Beverage Company, said the move from Yuengling to Texas “will provide a tremendous opportunity for growth” for both companies.

“By brewing the iconic Yuengling beer at our world-class Ft. Worth facility, we’re going to make a lot of Texans happy,” he said in a written statement.
