Yuengling ranked the country's best artisan brewery

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) – The oldest American brewery is again one of the country's largest craft brewers, according to a report.

The Brewers Association has named Pottsville-based Yuengling Inc. as one of the top 50 craft brewers.

"Although the market has become more competitive, especially for the most popular regional breweries, these 50 small independent breweries continue to dominate the craft brewery market with strong brands, quality and innovation. "said Bart Watson, director economist, Brewers Association.

The list was based on the volume of beer sales.

Other breweries from the region were on the list, including Artisanal Brewing Ventures, Dogfish Head Craft Brewery and Troegs Brewing Co.
