Zach LaVine doesn’t fly to Tokyo with US team, hopes to compete in Olympics

The US team has already lost Bradley Beal for the Tokyo Olympics due to coronavirus concerns.

Now Bulls goalie Zach LaVine is not traveling to Tokyo.

As a precaution, USA Basketball Men’s National Team member Zach LaVine has been placed under USA Basketball health and safety protocols and will not be traveling with the team to Tokyo today, announced. Hopefully LaVine gets cleaned up quickly. Jerami Grant was placed in health and safety protocols on Thursday and then played yesterday in Team USA’s win over Spain.

LaVine wouldn’t be the only late arrival in Tokyo. Khris Middleton, Jrue Holiday and Devin Booker – playing in the NBA Finals – are also planning to take another flight.

However, if LaVine can’t play, late roster changes become more complicated.
