Zelda and Loftwing Skyward Sword Amiibos hit by “unforeseen delivery delays”

Nintendo has confirmed to IGN that the Zelda and Loftwing amiibo figure has been affected by “unforeseen” delivery delays. As such, only a handful of amiibo orders will be available on July 16, with the rest arriving later.

In a statement provided by Nintendo of America, the company said, “The Zelda & Loftwing amiibo figure is currently affected by unforeseen delivery delays. As a result, only a small portion of the Zelda & Loftwing will be available when it is scheduled to launch on July 16. date. Additional shipments are delayed until August. We will ship additional amiibo to retailers as they arrive. “

Nintendo of America also told IGN that this delay should not impact other amiibo figures at this time.

The amiibo Zelda and Loftwing was scheduled to release alongside The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD. But due to the delay, it looks like only a small number of pre-orders will be honored. The rest will be shipped as Nintendo receives more stock in August.

While amiibo are popular as collectibles, the Skyward Sword amiibo comes with an additional quality of life feature that some fans may be disappointed to miss at launch.

As previously announced, the new amiibo will allow Link to return to the sky anytime and anywhere without having to travel to designated save points like in the original version of the Wii. Using the amiibo in the sky will allow Link to return to the same location on the surface and this feature also works in dungeons and buildings.

Although Nintendo has not provided the exact reason for the delay in delivery, the company is seeking to honor orders. Unfortunately, it looks like some people will just have to wait a little longer. The amiibo will always look great on your shelf and the added functionality is not required to play the game.
