And the former Disney Channel star is finally returning to the troubled teenage character who won her role as the lead actress in a drama series.
She reunited with her co-star Hunter Schafer, as they teased more teen drama on HBO’s Christmas special, posting the promotional images on Instagram Wednesday.

The 24-year-old has revealed that the first of two specials is captioned Part 1: Street, which airs December 6 on HBO Max.
She posed for a blurry image in her character’s red hoodie, lying on her back with her hands behind her head, captioned: “ This isn’t season 2. ”
Zendaya performed with Schafer, 20, as they served up a sleepover vibe in another snapshot with the same caption.
It was revealed last month that HBO had ordered two special episodes of the series to fill the gap until the second season, which was delayed amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the first episode is titled Trouble Don’t Last Always, taking place “after being left by Jules (Schafer) at the train station and relapsed.” He will follow Rue as she celebrates Christmas.
Colman Domingo reprizes his role as Ali in the episode, written and directed by series creator Sam Levinson.
