Despite being one of the largest email services on the planet, Gmail still does not have a few basic features that other services have had for years. One of these features is the planning of emails, which is incredibly impossible in the Gmail mobile application or online. As it stands, the only way to schedule an email in Gmail is to use a script or download a separate application or extension, but after fifteen years, Google could finally add an official scheduler.
In its disassembly of the latest Gmail APK app, Android Police discovered a few lines of code that seem to suggest that a native programming feature will be included in a future update for the # 39; application. The bad news is that it's impossible to know when this new feature will begin to be deployed – it could be this week or in a few months.
As noted Android Police two lines of APK code includes the phrase "send a calendar", and although it is impossible to know for sure that Google refers to the possibility to schedule an email to send it later, it seems that this is the most obvious explanation. If it touches the Android application in the near future, the web client will probably get the feature soon after if it is not at the same time. Feature sets on mobile and the web generally reflect each other.
It's honestly hard to believe that such a basic feature has not been added to Gmail since its 14 years of existence, but better late than never. As a person who spends hours each day sending and receiving e-mails to work, having the ability to delay an answer without having to manually remind me to do so would be of great help.
