JACKSONVILLE, Fla – The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office is investigating two overnight shootings that left one dead and two seriously injured.

The first shooting took place Tuesday shortly after 10 p.m. in Arlington on Brookwood Forest Boulevard.

Authorities found a man between the ages of 18 and 20 dead at the scene and another man, believed to be in his 20s, who had been shot several times.

Police said he was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

A suspect in the double shooting has not yet been identified, according to JSO. Detectives scour the area looking for witnesses and video cameras that may have captured what happened.

A second unrelated shooting occurred a few hours later before 1 a.m. on Wednesday.

Police said officers were called to I-295 North near Roosevelt Boulevard after receiving a report of a shooting. Upon arrival, they learned that two people from two separate vehicles were shooting at each other as they drove north on I-295.

A man in one of these vehicles who the officers said was outside the gunfire was hit during the exchange and was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

The other vehicle involved left the scene.

A third vehicle that was not involved in the shooting was hit by stray bullets, but JSO said no one inside the vehicle was injured.

Anyone with information on either incident is asked to call the sheriff’s office at 904-630-0500 or Crimestoppers.
