A woman was killed and six others injured, including a 14-year-old girl, when at least two people opened fire at a party in Brooklyn on Sunday night, police said.
The shooting took place around 11:17 p.m. at 15 Albany Avenue in the Bedford-Stuyvesant neighborhood, during a rally attended by many young people and adolescents.
A 20-year-old woman was shot and later died at Woodhull Medical Center, police said. The 14-year-old was punched on the buttocks and rushed to Maimonides Medical Center, where she was in stable condition.

The party at Albany Avenue appeared to be a continuation of a previous rally for a “Sweet 16” celebration that was interrupted around 7 p.m. in a hall in eastern New York City, police said. Police believe two gunmen arrived at 15 Albany Avenue around 11 p.m. and opened fire outside the main entrance. They then entered the lobby and continued shooting as they went up to the third floor, police said.
