Over the past 15 years, a family from Lincolnshire, England, has seen 10 women with breast cancer, undergo multiple surgeries, undergo chemotherapy and radiation therapy and celebrate their absence from disease.
Eight of the ten women aged 47 to 81 are blood relatives, the other two are married in.
The women said that knowing that their loved ones had also been on treatment and came out alive helped them stay optimistic.

"We are a close family and so we are one for each other," Vanessa Haw, diagnosed in April 2015 after diagnosing her own mother in 2003, told SWNS. "This support and knowing that someone who had breast cancer but survived was brilliant. Even the worst days, you knew that there was life, hope. "
Haw, 55, chose to undergo two mastectomies and his lymph nodes were removed from his left arm instead of being irradiated after seeing the effects of treatment on his mother. She has also created a Facebook group so that women can continue to update and support each other.

Trudie Smart, who was not on the group photo, was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2008.

Barbara's mother, 81-year-old Barbara Limb, was the second-oldest member of the family to be diagnosed and is the oldest survivor. She was diagnosed in 2003 and underwent radiation therapy, lumpectomy and lymph nodes.
It was unclear whether the related women had undergone genetic testing for the BRCA1 and BRCA2 genes after the diagnostic group, or whether they had all been diagnosed with the same type of breast cancer.
To celebrate their triumph over the disease, the group has called for a charity calendar to be released next month, with all proceeds going to Breast Cancer Care.

According to Cancer Research UK, an estimated 55,200 breast cancer cases are diagnosed each year in the UK, making it the most prevalent cancer in the region.
It is estimated that around 11,400 breast cancer deaths occur each year in the United Kingdom, making it the fourth leading cause of cancer death. But about eight in ten women diagnosed in England survive for ten years or more.
