100 new COVID-19 cases reported on Big Island

The Hawaii Department of Health reported 565 new cases of COVID-19 on Tuesday, bringing the total to 57,235 statewide. One new death related to COVID has been reported.

In total, 100 new infections were identified on the Big Island on Tuesday. The Hawai’i County Civil Defense Agency reports 1,671 active cases with 40 people hospitalized.

The state’s two-week average is now 688 new cases per day, with a test positivity rate of 8.3%. A map documenting new cases by district across all islands can be found on the DOH website.

O’ahu: 40,421
Maui: 6,760
Hawaii: 6,656
Kaua’i: 1,048
Moloka’i: 154
Lana’i: 126
Pending: 0
Out of State: 2,070

A total of 3,220 people have been hospitalized with COVID-19 infection since the start of the pandemic, while at least 565 have died.

To date, a total of 1,833,678 doses of vaccine have been administered statewide, with 62% of the population fully vaccinated to 70.4% having received at least one injection.
