In Florida, a 100-year-old man died and two people were seriously injured in a multi-vehicle collision after drivers stopped in front of a family of northern cranes.

The Florida Highway Patrol said two drivers heading west on Wickham Road – not far from Brevard Zoo – stopped in the left lane to let the Sandhill crane family cross the road.

A third vehicle – a Chrysler van – traveling west seemed to go around the stopped vehicles before noticing the cranes on the road. He quickly turned around, hitting the two stopped cars, said the soldiers, according to FOX 35.
