11 News’ Katie Pelton receives’ Silver Key Champion ‘award for her work with the elderly

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) – 11 News is delighted to announce a very special honor to a very special team member.

You see her hosting our daily midday television news. Behind the scenes, Katie Pelton has worked tirelessly over the years to protect seniors from scams. When not fighting fraud, she has helped local nonprofit Silver Key deliver food to seniors through its Meals on Wheels program.

On Tuesday, Silver Key presented Pelton with its “Silver Key Champion” award in recognition of his commitment to the organization and the elders in our community.

Silver Key has championed the seniors of the Pikes Peak area for over 50 years, with staff and volunteers volunteering their time for needs like meals, rides and the company. Recently, the organization raised over $ 230,000 to help seniors in our region!
