12-year-old prodigy Alena Wicker to attend Arizona State University, plans to land a job at NASA

ARIZONA – A 12-year-old prodigy has gone to college.

Alena Wicker of Arizona has already completed high school at home.

Now she’s gone to Arizona State University.

She plans to specialize in astronomical and planetary sciences and chemistry.

Her passion for construction began when she was a child with LEGOs.

Wicker’s hope is to land a job at NASA at the age of 16.

“I will be driving one of these future space rovers by the time I graduate from college,” she said.

Its objective is to build rovers like the one sent to Mars as part of the Perseverance mission.

“It doesn’t matter how old you are or what you plan on doing,” Wicker said. “Go ahead, dream, then accomplish it.”
