More than a dozen people were hospitalized for an unidentified illness after their flight from Miami to Boston landed Sunday morning at Logan International Airport, according to reports.
The 13 unfortunate leaflets, all of which are part of a group of students returning from a trip abroad, said they felt sick and were taken to Massachusetts General Hospital after their American Airlines flight landed around 10:12, according to WCVB-TV.
A passenger saw people vomiting on the flight, according to the station.
The group had already been to the Galapagos Islands and Ecuador before going through Miami, said an American Airlines representative at the point of sale. Three other members reported feeling sick but were not hospitalized.
A chaperone told American that the 13 had "eaten the same thing" before getting sick. No one else on the flight has shown any symptoms, according to the airline company.
Officials described the symptoms as benign – even though they did not know what caused them right away.
