The summer camp becomes deadly in the trailer of "American Horror Story: 1984."

FX released Monday a preview of the ninth season, which addresses the horror genre of the 1980s. A psychopathic killer terrorizes a camp in the woods. The crickets whistle in the silent night at the beginning of the caravan, accumulating the suspense before the disturbing steps and the clatter of keys announce a summer night much less warm. The short video then quickly cuts a number of fleeting frames that do not tell us much, but allude to some of the most horrific scenes we can expect from this season: piles of bloody, lifeless bodies piled up in cabins, while others show petrified characters dragged to their death by anonymous hands.

Emma Roberts, Cody Fern and Billie Lourd meet a man on the side of the road as they head for Camp Redwood, where they will spend the summer as camp counselors. It turns out that this man is Mr. Jingles, an escaped murderer who is responsible for the "worst summer slaughter of all time".

Actors also include Gus Kenworthy, Leslie Grossman, John Carroll Lynch, Zach Villa, DeRon Horton, Matthew Morrison and Angelica Ross, while "AHS" alums Sarah Paulson and Evan Peters will not be on the bill. However, as noted earlier, it is possible that Paulson will make at least small cameos in the ninth installment, and perhaps this time wearing 80s leggings and a tubular headdress.
