NEWARK, NJ (WABC) – Two planes from the southwestern Newark International Airport were escorted by a snowstorm on Saturday morning.

According to the port authority, the aircraft suffered minor damage.

Passengers on board a plane posted photos on Twitter, saying, "It looks like my Florida vacation will actually be at Newark Airport because my @Southwest plane has just been hit. by another plane on the tarmac. "

One person said that an airline employee was carrying a piece of metal that fell off the plane when the wings were cut off. Another, Bryan Rogers of Weehawken, told Eyewitness News that this happened as both aircraft de-iced.

No injuries were reported.

It is still unclear whether the incident was weather related.
