We’ve finally reached the 2021 World Junior Championship gold medal game, and we’ll have another classic match on our hands to see who gets crowned champion. Canada has led the competition so far with a perfect 4-0 in the group stage and beating opponents 33-4 in the process. The United States, meanwhile, came back from an early loss to Russia in their opener and surprised Finland with a late semi-final goal thanks to Arthur Kaliyev.
Surprisingly, this is only the fifth time the two nations have met in the gold medal match. The United States have won three of the previous four meetings, with their last victory coming in 2017 against the winner of the Troy Terry shootout.
