Twenty-three people have died in Norway, days after being vaccinated with the first dose of Pfizer Covid-19. 13 of them were nursing home patients and died from the side effects of the vaccine.
Weak and delicate patients are prone to common reactions such as fever and nausea, according to a chief physician at the Norwegian Medicines Agency. The 13 patients at the nursing home were at least 80 years old, raising the question of who should get the vaccine.
The Covid-19 Pfizer and Moderna vaccines appear to present little risk, but frail patients are the exception to this rule. A total of 29 people had side effects from the vaccine and 13 of them died. Apart from the 13 patients, nine others had serious side effects like high fever and allergic reactions, while another seven had less serious side effects.
In Norway, at least 30,000 people received the first injection of Pfizer or Moderna since last month.
