SALT LAKE CITY – The Utah Department of Health’s COVID-19 report for Tuesday shows Utah now has 47,157 positive cases, an increase of 263 since Monday’s report and five new deaths.
606,516 people in Utah have been tested for the disease and the state’s seven-day moving average for positive cases is 341 per day.
Since the start of the pandemic, 2,804 people in Utah have had to be hospitalized for COVID-19 and 134 remain hospitalized.
369 people in Utah have now died from COVID-19. The five new deaths reported on Tuesday are:
- Male, 25-44, resident of Salt Lake County, hospitalized at time of death
- Female, aged 45 to 64, resident of Salt Lake County, resident in long-term care facility
- Female, 65-84, Salt Lake County resident, out of hospital
- Male over 85, resident of Box Elder County, resident in long-term care facility
- Woman, aged 65 to 84, resident of Weber County, hospitalized before death
38,555 of Utah’s cases – nearly 82% – are considered “cured.” A case diagnosed more than three weeks ago who has not died is considered cured.
