“That’s his message, ‘Get vaccinated. Because I would hate for people to be like me, ”said Brittany Wright.

Wright said her husband was reluctant to get the shot because of conspiracy theories he had read online.

“He was immersed in Tik Tok conspiracy theories and, for him, he just didn’t want to get (the hit),” Wright said. “He didn’t trust the government.

She was vaccinated last month and is still waiting for her second injection.

They both fell ill, but only Braderick Wright ended up in hospital on July 30. Brittany Wright said her husband changed his mind about the vaccine after that, but it was too late.

On Saturday, doctors called to tell Brittany they needed to intubate her husband. She was able to come in to talk to him one last time.

“He told her he didn’t want to lose me. I told him I didn’t want to lose him, ”said Brittany Wright. “I told him I loved him.

A few hours later, she received the call that her heart had stopped.

Wright said her husband suffered from pre-existing conditions like diabetes and high blood pressure, but she didn’t think she would lose him so young.

“I’m 25. And I mean, I didn’t expect to be a widow at 25,” Wright said. “I expected that we would grow old together, have kids, grandchildren, and just live life, you know. But unfortunately, here I am today planning his funeral.

The Wrights just married in December, but have been in a relationship for five years. The two drive large drilling trucks.

“My husband was really, really awkward. He understood that life is always an adventure, ”said Brittany Wright. “We had some trips planned, and now I don’t know what to do. He was literally the light of my world and that light is gone.

Doctors told Wright that she probably survived because she had already received a dose of the vaccine.

The family set up a GoFundMe to help with funeral expenses. Braderick Wright’s funeral takes place on Saturday.
