17th anniversary of the ring of honor
Broadcast live à la carte, FITE TV, HonorClub
Las Vegas, Nevada to Sam's Town Live

A video package was opened with a birthday-themed video package on "Honored Heroes and Legendary Rivalries". The narrator also noted that Jay Lethal has been the ROH champion for longer than anyone. Matt Taven interrupted him and claimed to be the real ROH champion. Taven said that they had no choice and that they had to crown the king. "Now you can start the show, Melvins," says Taven …

Ian Riccaboni, Nick Aldis and Caprice Coleman have been commented. They arrived at the edge of the ring and flew over some of the best matches. Bobby Cruise was the announcer of the ring …

1. Marty Scurll vs. Kenny King. A bad impostor of Marty Scurll accompanied Lethal when he entered. There was a loud "Marty" song once Scurll was in the ring. Scurll knocked King to start the match. King fell to the ground and Scurll grabbed him with a deck superkick. Scurll also fired Lethal's post from the apron. King came back with a great blockbuster for two counts.

At 5:20, Scurll made a DDT from the apron and threw King inside the ring. Scurll performed a sequence consisting of a suplex half-dragon and a powerbomb for a close fall. King came back with a blockbuster for a count of two at 9:10. Scurll teased the cutoff point at 10:30, but King kicked him to avoid it.

King was caught climbing on Scurl, who puzzled him. King immediately returned with his Royal Flush finisher, but Scurll rolled up to the edge of the ring. King followed and grabbed a chair and carried it to the inside of the ring. Referee Paul Turner removed the chair. Scurll knocked King with his umbrella and pinned him …

Marty Scurll defeated Kenny King in 12:50.

Powell's point of view: A good opening match. The finish has never really been called into question as Scurll has to compete in the ROH Championship at the G1 Supercard at Madison Square Garden in a few weeks. In fact, I'm surprised he did not go stronger for that reason. This did not seem to be a problem with the live crowd, as they were in the game of bell to bell. By the way, Colt Cabana is missing from this show because of his participation in the New Japan Pro Wrestling New Japan Cup events. Aldis and Coleman do a good job, but we still miss Cabana.

A video package introduces the ROH TV Title …

2. Jeff Cobb vs. Shane Taylor for the ROH TV title. Taylor has removed the code of honor. At 5:20 am, Cobb performed an impressive mane-pump manna for a two-point count. Taylor came back with a nice knee to Cobb's face on behalf of two. At 6:50 am, Cobb threw a clothesline that toppled Taylor and sold it as if he had thrown it so hard that his momentum drove him to the edge of the ring. The wrestlers exchanged strokes of the forearm.

At 8:50, the wrestlers fought on the ropes. Cobb eventually slammed Taylor's ropes and followed with a moon standing up for a charge of two. A song "That's awesome" broke out. Taylor made a beautiful spinebuster for a close fall. Taylor performed a uranage and then performed a second splash of rope for another near the fall.

Cobb came back with a suplex in a pin for a near fall. Taylor returned Cobb with a clothesline and ran a Canadian Destroyer for a very good period of almost autumn. Cobb did a tour of the islands. Taylor sits, so Cobb performed the move a second time and pinned him …

Jeff Cobb defeated Shane Taylor at 1:30 pm to retain the ROH TV title.

Powell's point of view: A great match. Cobb went, but Taylor really won something in defeat. It was even better than their strong TV experience. We hope the creative team understands this and has a plan to try to build on the momentum generated by Taylor despite its success.

The broadcast team spoke at the ring's edge. Riccaboni said he hoped to see Cobb against Taylor III. They changed orientation and set up a video set on the match of the Women of Honor Championship …

3. Mayu Iwatani (with Sumie Sakai) against Kelly Klein (with Camp Klein) for the WOH Championship. Riccaboni noted that Klein was 2-1 against Iwatani, but added that, unfortunately, the defeat occurs when the WOH Championship is in contention. Klein controlled the early attack. Iwatani made a beautiful leap of aurora borealis in a bridge for a tally in two at 3:35. Iwatani performed a double strike and a kick on the way for a two – count charge. Klein threw Iwatani down and color commentators questioned his strategy.

Iwatani performed a German suplex, then Klein returned the favor and dropped Iwatani on his head at 6:20. Damn. Iwatani appeared a few seconds later. Double kerchief. Iwatani went for a mountain rope, but Klein avoided it. Klein went on the offensive, but Iwatani caught him in an inner cradle and pinned the pin …

Mayu Iwatani defeated Kelly Klein in 8:20 to retain the WOH title.

Powell's point of view: A solid match and I wonder if we will see a revenge at MSG. I would like to see Klein work for more warmth. This is a natural heel and a good wrestler, but she does not seem to spend much time working with the crowd. A little bit would go a long way in this regard.

A video package on Lifeblood's training and help for Jay Lethal when he destroyed Matt Taven's "real" world title belt …

The music of the kingdom played. Matt Taven came out rather than TK O'Ryan and Vinny Marseglia, who had to face Mark Haskins and Tracy Williams. Taven said that he could not stay behind the scenes a minute longer. He called Lethal to start their match …

4. Jay Lethal vs. Matt Taven for the ROH title. Cruise presented the introductions in the ring for the championship game. After a slower work, Taven avoided an injection of Lethal and gave Lethal a nice kick for two counts. Riccaboni announced that Jeff Cobb had challenged Will Ospreay for a title-against-title title for the G1 Supercard.

Powell's point of view: Riccaboni said the match between Cobb and Ospreay was focused on what's happening in the New Japan Cup tournament. That said, anyone who has seen Ospreay win the tournament must be able to guess his prognostic skills.

At 3:50 pm, Lethal performed a suicide dive. Lethal stopped and pointed to a Chucky doll that a fan had at the ring for some reason. Lethal performed two more suicide dives. Taven came back and targeted Lethal's left shoulder and worked on it at 9:00 pm. The wrestlers bit themselves at 24 hours. Taven said something about Lethal's mother, to which Lethal responded with a whim. Taven went back to Lethal's shoulder to regain control of the offensive.

Red balloons floated under the ring. Vinny Marseglia hit the ring and attacked Lethal while TK O'Ryan came out and distracted referee Todd Sinclair. Jonathan Gresham came to help, but Marseglia tied him on the barricade, then O'Ryan put a chair on his knee. O & # 39; Ryan and Marseglia have set a table at the ring. Mark Haskins and Tracy Williams went out and sued O'Ryan and Marseglia in the back.

Taven gave Lethal a low blow while Sinclair was distracted. Taven performed his Climax finishing program and nearly dropped by 31:30. Taven performed a frog shot for another near the fall. Taven went for another frog shot, but Lethal raised his knees. Lethal got a tally in two, then grabbed Taven with a cutter for another count.

There were dueling songs for the wrestlers, who exchanged punches in the ring. Lethal grabbed Taven on the middle rope and placed him in a torture rack, then executed a rolling mission for two counts. Lethal applied a four digit at 36:45. Taven turned it over. Lethal spun and Taven reached the ropes to break the hold. The wrestlers fought for the position near the ropes. Taven won the battle and ended up breaking Lethal from the apron to the ring at 40:10.

At 44:40, Taven released Lethal after selling a lot of his offense. Lethal gave a lethal injection for a near fall. Lethal and the broadcast team were shocked by the sending of Taven. Shortly after, Taven bit to Lethal, who answered by giving him a cutter on the apron. Lethal pulled a table from under the ring and installed it near the ring. Aldis blamed Lethal for using a table. Lethal placed Taven on the table and went to the ropes, but Taven recovered and pushed Lethal down so that his bad shoulder landed on the apron at 49:40. Taven pulled a ladder under the ring.

Taven installed the ladder over the barricade and the apron, then let Lethal pretend to be the real world champion. Taven fell to the ground and fell on the ladder. Lethal climbed up and elbowed. Taven came out of the ladder and Lethal crashed on it. Two men went out and tried to help Lethal at the back. Lethal said no. Taven made a big dive over the top rope on Lethal and the two men. Taven brought Lethal back into the ring and had a good run that led to a strong fall near 55:10.

Taven hit Lethal with a few knees. Taven grabbed Lethal's head, chewed on his head, then spat in his face. Taven performed another knee and covered Lethal for two more accounts. Taven went upstairs and fetched a frog, but Lethal caught up with a knife for another good start of autumn. A song "That's awesome" broke out.

The two wrestlers were kneeling in the middle of the ring. Taven told Lethal that he hated him, and then the wrestlers exchanged punches and slaps. Lethal struck Taven with a kick, then hit him with two superkicks. "You …" Lethal said before hitting a third superkick. Lethal gave a lethal injection for another close to the fall. Bobby Cruise spoke with referee Todd Sinclair, then announced that the deadline had expired.

Jay Lethal beat Matt Taven for 60 minutes to retain the ROH title.

After the match, the fans chanted five more minutes. The broadcast team quickly realized that this was not in ROH's rule book. A song "let them fight" broke out. Marty Scurll walked to the ring and looked at the two men, who were still selling their wounds. Scurll picked up the ROH title belt and laid it on his shoulder. Taven tried to get up to stop him, but then acted as if his knee had let go. Scurll took the title belt at the back …

Powell's point of view: The live crowd liked that. They came back to life after about 20 minutes and were with the wrestlers until the end of the match, despite their disappointment at not winning. It seemed like the draw was a strong possibility from the start because of the speed with which they were working and it was a questionable call, but it worked better than I would have expected. They made the Lethal feud against Taven feel personal before the match and it intensified things. Obviously, we have a three-way match between Lethal, Taven and Scurll at the G1 Supercard event at MSG.

An advertisement for HonorClub, then one for G1 Supercard …

Ian Riccaboni went on stage and presented the Supercard G1 on April 6th. Riccaboni introduced Mega Ran, who came with one of her friends. He told the crowd to make noise for what they had seen so far. He said he decided to write a song about ROH going to MSG. First, both men threw away free products. Mega Ran cheered the fans, entered the ring with her boyfriend, and then performed her song.

Bully Ray came out and threw a chair into the ring. Ran asked him what was happening. Ray complained of Ran's wasted time for his pay-per-view service and stated that he hated rap. He found himself facing Ran's boyfriend and told him to erase the smile from his face. Bully is laughed at Ran for his name drawn from a video game. Ray said that Ran is probably one of those brands who played it in WWE video games. "In fact, I chose D-Von," said Ran. "Testify." Ray pushed the two men and barked at them to leave the ring.

Bully Ray made a promo on the fact that no ROH or NJPW player had ever been introduced to MSG. Ray claimed to have sold the MSG, wrestled at WrestleMania at the MSG and at the MSG Main Event. Ray barked after a few children and said that he would slap them both in the face. Ray stated that no one at ROH or NJPW was worthy to join the ring with him at MSG. Fans chanted Flip Gordon. Ray asked if they meant the guy with the broken knee. Ray looked at the camera and launched a challenge open to anyone in the fight area to meet him in a street fight at MSG. "I'll see you in the garden, punk," Ray closed.

A video package sets up the next game …

Powell's point of view: Thus, everything indicates that Silas Young is opposed to Jonathan Gresham and that the matches between Haskins and Williams against O'Ryan and Marseglia are withdrawn from the match because of the match for the title ROH which will last 60 minutes. These are the two games that should be saved for television, but we have 30 minutes left for Rush vs.. Bandido at the title match of the ROH. This show is on pay-per-view, so they have a firm start time.

5. Rush vs. Bandido. Dalton Castle replaces Aldis in the comments and had The Boys at his side. Rush grabbed Bandido throwing himself into a huracnrana near the ring, then slammed it across a table on the floor. Rush brought Bandido back inside the ring and ended up laying down in the ring. Rush briefly attacked Bandido's mask. Meanwhile, Castle has admitted that he has not been at his best lately. So he went to see two of the best ROH players in the hope that it would pay him something.

Bandido came back and performed a suicide dive. He then dipped over the top rope until Rush, at the edge of the ring. Back in the ring, Rush executed a Canadian destroyer. Bandido finally got up and followed a movement that left the two men down. The crowd counted with Referee Paul Turner in Spanish until both men got back on their feet. Pleasant. Rush and Bandido fought to take a position on the ropes. Rush propelled Bandido for a deadlift superplex for a near fall. Bandido immediately returned with a suplex.

Bandido positioned Rush so that he was hanging on the middle rope, then performed a 450 splash on the springboard. Bandido left for a springboard and Rush caught him with a dropkick that sent Bandido down. Rush did a dive on Bandido. Rush immediately returned with a huracanrana from the apron that left the two men on the ground near the ring. Back in the ring, Bandido charged Rush, who surprised him in the corner. Castle rushed on the match and the wrestlers. Rush performed a drop drop underway on Bandido, sitting in a corner. Rush pinned Bandido.

Rush defeated Bandido in 15h05.

After the game, Castle said it was exactly what he needed and it gave him a great idea. Castle entered the ring with a microphone. Castle says that Rush is like a mountain of meat. Rush sat for a moment on the top rope. Castle says he's looking at Rush and sees a challenge, someone he wants to break his head with. Castle challenged Rush to face the G1 Supercard at MSG. Rush picked up the microphone and asked Castle who he was. Rush said that if Castle wanted to face him, he did not care. Rush spoke to him in Spanish and dealt with him perro. Riccaboni said the challenge was accepted …

Powell's point of view: I'm surprised we saw a clean finish for this game. I thought they might be able to use Rush with a heel tactic or that Castle intervenes, but they managed with a clean and decisive finish. The match was fun and yet he did not feel as big as he should have been. They had a hard time following the 60-minute draw. And it has become difficult to take some of the big movements seriously, once they have not sold as much. I hope that ROH will return soon to this match and will do it well with better build and revenge under different circumstances.

The broadcast team talked about canceled games. Riccaboni said that Gresham had a knee injury (scenario in history) and that his match was therefore interrupted. The Kingdom was so frustrated that he left the building. Riccaboni said that satellite service providers allowed them to participate in the main event. Silas Young joined the team of Riccaboni and Coleman for the comment of the main event … A video package set up the match titled ROH Tag Title.

6. Jay Briscoe and Mark Briscoe against the PCO and Brody King in a street fight in Las Vegas for ROH tag titles. King wore a mask on the ring before the match, then threw it to the crowd. The cruise featured introductions in the ring for the title match. The match started a little over a minute before the scheduled end time of pay-per-view. The wrestlers threw chairs into the ring once the bell sounded. The Briscoes won an early duel.

PCO slammed Mark's apron across a table on the floor. King made phone calls to PCO to fire him, then whipped him in Jay's corner. King followed Jay. King slammed a chair into Jay's groin. Mark hit the PCO with a ground kendo stick. The PCO did not sell it and sued it, but Mark threw it on the barricade. The Briscos isolated King and put a chair in one corner and a table in another. King ran Jay on the chair, then passed Mark across the table. Jay was bleeding from the front as the teams fought near the ring.

At 10 am, the Briscoes returned the BCP to the edge of the deck. Damn. Jay wore a scarlet mask from the old school while he was working on King inside the ring. Two tables were placed side by side on the floor. Jay tried unsuccessfully to make King believe, but Mark eventually made a blockbuster from the top rope and King and fell through the tables. Jay almost fell on King inside the ring.

PCO was also bleeding when he returned to the ring. PCO broke kendo sticks on his knee. The Briscos picked up the pieces of broken sticks and used them as weapons. Mark stabbed the PCO in the throat with the broken edge of the stick. At 5:50 pm, King, who was also bleeding, threw Mark ropes over a table on the floor and on chairs right in front of the table. Damn. King and Jay fought on the apron. King seemed to be looking for a piledriver, but Jay and he both fell from the apron onto a table that collapsed on the floor. King placed Jay in the ring and placed a chair on him, then the BCP executed a lunar attack on the top rope and marked the pin …

BCP and Brody King defeated the Briscoes in 19:10 in a street fight in Las Vegas to win the ROH titles.

Powell's point of view: Who could have guessed that ROH was closing its 17th anniversary with a hardcore fight at ECW? It was just as crazy as it appeared on paper. The four guys worked very hard and made crazy stunts.

The last two games have paid the match price for the ROH title: one hour of flying and one win in the slot. That said, the ROH officials played well, because if they had put the main event to the last, everyone would have thought it was going to be at least a long match. A 60-minute draw was risky because there was no guarantee that the match would be so well received, and we do not know how the spectators would have reacted to the closing of the show by a draw. Overall, this event exceeded my expectations. I'll have more to say in the exclusive audio review of my members in a moment.

Check out below the new Pro Wrestling Boom podcast featuring Jason Powell and guest Ian Riccaboni discussing his decision to sign up again with Ring of Honor, to invest emotionally in matches, the G1 Supercard at MSG, And much more.
