Syracuse, New York – Three more Covid-19 vaccine registration opportunities go live today at noon – including about 1,900 appointments for additional vaccines on Friday and Sunday.
Most of these options are aimed specifically at older people. All are exclusive to residents of Onondaga County.
Here’s what you need to know about the three options:
900 vaccines at Onondaga County Friday Clinic
Who qualifies: Anyone currently authorized to be vaccinated, regardless of their age. But this clinic is primarily for teachers, government workers and other frontline workers who are now qualifying for the vaccine. Some appointments will be available for seniors.
How to register: The dating website will open at noon, Onondaga County Manager Ryan McMahon said on Wednesday. He expects them to be filled within 30 minutes.
Website: https://covid19.ongov.net/vaccine/. Click where it says “Make an appointment for your first dose here.”
When does it open? Noon, Thursday January 28.
Phone option? The county has a few appointments for seniors who call 211.
993 vaccines at the Oncenter Sunday
Who is eligible? Anyone 65 years of age or older living in Onondaga County.
How to register: These appointments are made through the Kinney Drugs website. Go to their vaccination page and click on New York to start the process.
Website: https://secure.kinneydrugs.com/pharmacy/covid-19/vaccination-scheduling/ny/
When does it open? Noon, Thursday January 28.
Phone option: Not at this time. Kinney officials are asking people not to call local pharmacies. This is not how to get a date.
10,000 places on ONList, the senior waiting list
Who is eligible? Anyone 65 years of age or older living in Onondaga County.
How to register: The county will add the registration link to its website later today. Look for it here and here.
This online registration is much simpler than making an appointment online. Seniors will fill out a form with their name, date of birth and contact details. This will put you on a waiting list for the vaccine. County and Kinney Drugs will be randomly selecting from this list starting next week. Appointments will be made week by week, depending on the vaccine supply.
Website: https://covid19.ongov.net/ and https://covid19.ongov.net/vaccine/.
When does it open? Noon, Thursday January 28.
Phone option: Not at this time. Onondaga County is working with Syracuse University to set up a telephone bank. Students would help seniors with their online registrations. This has not opened to date.
