The Green Bay Packers have had an eventful offseason that included constant rumors about quarterback Aaron Rodgers. For a while it was unclear whether Rodgers would be traded or retire during the offseason, but he eventually made it to training camp.

The Packers have gone 13-3 over the past two seasons but have lost in 2 straight NFC Championship games.

They’ll try to make a Super Bowl run in what could be Rodgers last season with the Packers.

The Packers added depth to the wide receiver when they traded for former team wide receiver Randall Cobb. The move will help Rodgers and the offense rise even higher in the 2021-22 season.

The Packers also saw some players get stronger during training camp. Here are 3 pleasant surprises that marked the Packers at the start of 2021 NFL training camp.

The packers stand out:

3. Linebacker De’Vondre Campbell

De’Vondre Campbell has shone in the camp so far and got number one in reps. Campbell was signed by the Packers in June and appears to be a starting linebacker alongside Krys Barnes.

“De’Vondre has been extinguished. He did a great job. I think he’s done a really good job of getting what we ask him to do quickly, ”said coach Matt LaFleur.

The Packers have had an inside linebacker weakness over the past few seasons, but the Campbell and Barnes duo could fix that.

Look for Campbell to have a great season after shining in training camp.

2. Josh Myers Center

Rookie center Josh Myers has impressed many in the Packers’ organization. Myers was selected in the second round by the Packers to replace Corey Linsley. The Pack didn’t have a ton of ceiling space and had to let the Pro Bowl center run in free will.

Myers looked strong at training camp, receiving compliments from quarterback Aaron Rodgers.

“That a guy comes in, as a draft pick, as a rookie, and he’s that comfortable – that’s pretty impressive,” said Rodgers. “He’s very comfortable with the system, good about himself. And he’s a great guy. He’s probably the biggest cross I’ve had in front of me. I like the way he stepped in and controlled the group and the calls the first four days.

Receiving Rodgers ‘praise as a rookie center is huge, and he should have a big impact on the Packers’ offense this season.

1. Juwann Winfree wide receiver

The great receiver everyone has been talking about is Juwann Winfree. He now has a chance to make the list, even in a large, stacked reception hall. Winfree’s exit off the line of scrimmage made it difficult for any cornerback on the list to cover.

Head Coach Matt LaFleur praised Winfree’s improvement in camp.

“I think Juwann has done a lot of great things,” said LaFleur. “I think he’s kind of picked up where he left off in the offseason schedule and OTAs. Obviously, being with us throughout the season last year has definitely laid a good foundation for him to understand what the expectations are.

The group of extended receivers is loaded and the emergence of Winfree will make decisions difficult for the front office. Look for Winfree to make the list and get some playing time this season.

With Rodgers’ return, the Packers are set to be a Super Bowl contender again.
