The Orange County Health Agency reported 335 new cases of the coronavirus on Wednesday, November 11, bringing the cumulative total to 63,165 cases.
An estimated 3,723 cases have been registered in the past 14 days.
The county reported two new deaths on Wednesday, bringing the total number of reported deaths to 1,514.
Of the 1,512 cumulative deaths reported from the virus, 579 were residents of skilled nursing facilities, 120 were in assisted living residences and five were listed as homeless.
The distribution of deaths by age in the county is as follows:
85 years and older: 32% (494) 75-84: 22% (327) 65-74: 20% (300, +1) 55-64: 14% (210, +1) 45-54: 8% ( 117) 35-44: 3% (39) 25-34: 1.3% (21) 18-24: <. 3% (5) 17 years and under: 0% (1)
Data on deaths in the county is compiled from death certificates or collected during case investigations and can take weeks to process, officials said.
About 89% of the cumulative cases reported, or 55,559 people as of Wednesday, are estimated to have recovered. The number of people who have recovered is based on the cumulative number of previous 28 days.
The county update reported that 1,206,059 tests have been carried out for the coronavirus since testing began locally, with at least 8,197 tests reported in the past 24 hours.
The county also reported 244 hospital patients with the coronavirus on Wednesday, 20 more than the previous day’s report. There were 83 patients listed in the ICUs.
Data released each day is preliminary and subject to change, officials say. Further information may become available as investigations of individual cases are completed.
