A new report by Knight Frank explains in detail how some alternative assets are more lucrative than others.

Art – an alternative investment choice offered to many leading investors – has also enjoyed some enthusiasm, with asset class up 9% in one year and 158% over the past 10 years.
The most expensive work sold at auction last year is a painting by David Hockney entitled "Portrait of an Artist (the Two Person Pool)" – as shown in the photo above – which was sold by Christie's auction house for $ 90 million. It was also the biggest sale of art made by a living artist.
According to the report, auction houses recorded record sales last year and expect this trend to continue.
