MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Police said four men were arrested after a two-car shootout on the streets of downtown Minneapolis ended in an accident that killed an innocent woman on Wednesday night.
Police received a call shortly after 11 p.m. about several shots coming from the 1800 block of Nicollet Avenue. There have been reports of two cars driving side by side, shooting at each other.
Several men occupied each car.
Vehicles proceeded to the intersection of Fifth Street and Sixth Avenue in the North Loop, near Target Field. The two cars collided and one struck a woman on a scooter on the sidewalk. Police said she was an innocent bystander. She died at the scene.

“From what I understood, the woman on the scooter was doing exactly that, she was on a scooter coming down the sidewalk and she was an innocent bystander of what appears to be a violent interchange between cars,” said the police spokesperson Garrett Parten. “At this level, I can tell you that this kind of death affects our officers. It is heartbreaking to see this kind of violence lead to this kind of death.
Police are asking anyone with information to come forward.
Four men involved in the shooting and the accident were hospitalized with serious injuries.
