What started as a Space Western in Season 1 of The Mandalorian turned into a quest to return Baby Yoda to the Jedi in Season 2. The most recent episode showed Din Djarin made contact with a former Jedi, but he has yet to fully fulfill his mission.
So, moving forward, Mando hopes to attract more Jedi to Grogu to the planet Tython, possibly to continue his training. If this happens, what Jedi could come to his aid? Here are some known Jedi options in Star wars canon that could appear at the end of Season 2. [Spoiler alert: Spoilers ahead for The Mandalorian Season 2 up to “Chapter 13: The Jedi”].
Ahsoka Tano told Mando she couldn’t or wouldn’t train Grogu

The big cameo in The MandalorianThe fifth episode was Ahsoka Tano. She has been a major character in the animated series Star Wars: The Clone Wars since 2008, then appeared in Star Wars Rebels, carving out a major place in the Star wars franchise as a whole.
This is the first live appearance of Ahsoka, portrayed by Rosario Dawson, when typically voiced by Ashley Eckstein in past appearances. But even though she carries lightsabers and uses the Force, she is not a Jedi. Mando, of course, doesn’t know this, and so he’s surprised when she refuses to train Grogu.
Of course, the public knows this is because of Baby Yoda’s intense attachment to Din. And while he doesn’t want to admit it, Din Djarin also has a deep bond with the child. Ahsoka sees him and immediately walks away from Grogu’s training because of the story of his former master Anakin.
She faced Darth Vader shortly before meeting Mando, and just came out of his refusal that his master had turned to the dark side. She relives her trauma of the Clone Wars and the Jedi purge with the return of Grogu. This only adds to his reminder of Anakin’s turn. That’s a lot to take and a valid reason not to train Grogu Force-style.
So if someone takes on Grogu’s training, and if he chooses to turn to the Jedi, who will it be? There are a few Jedi that we know exist right now.
Ezra Bridger
The biggest name fans weren’t expecting in this episode was Grand Admiral Thrawn. Before this episode, many fans thought it came after the Star Wars Rebels Epilogue. This means Ahsoka is looking for Thrawn, and Ezra is still absent in hyperspace with him.
Dave Filoni then hinted in an interview with Vanity Fair that this episode might actually come before this epilogue. If so, then who knows where Ezra Bridger is. Could he introduce himself if Grogu called him on Tython? If it does, then it obviously doesn’t hit Ahsoka and Sabine at the time of the epilogue, but who knows what happens in the meantime.
Luke skywalker
In all the heckling of The Mandalorian along with Krayt Dragons, beskar, and Baby Yoda, it’s sometimes hard to remember that Luke Skywalker, Han Solo, Leia Organa, and Chewbacca are galloping around the galaxy right now. This takes place five years later Return of the Jedi, so they would look a bit like what they do in this movie, Luke being around 30 years old.
It’s something fans have been thinking about as well, even fanciful actors like Sebastian Stan in the role. According to Star wars tradition, Luke set out to restore the Jedi Order almost immediately. It would therefore be logical for him to come directly to help another Force user calling for help.
Leia Organa
Again, Leia is also alive around this time, of course. She is, however, a little more concerned with the restoration of the New Republic. As seen in The Rise of Skywalker, Leia began to train as a Jedi. Although she started much later in the game than the Padawans usually did, she and Luke were obviously special cases.
However, after seeing and feeling her efforts were better suited elsewhere, she stopped. She also felt that she would kill her unborn child later in life if she continued. She has very much followed in her adoptive father’s and birth mother’s footsteps by returning to politics.
However, what if she heard Grogu reaching out through the Force? What if Rey wasn’t the first Jedi she trained? It would be tricky with the casting, without resorting to CGI, but who knows? It could be a very surprising cameo if done correctly.
Cal Kestis
Finally, a surprise and a late contender to the mix here is Cal Kestis. It was featured in the 2019 video game Jedi: fallen order which told the story of Cal, a Padawan who escaped Order 66 and went into hiding. The game then resumed its history five years later Revenge of the Sith and the Jedi Purge. The Empire’s Inquisitors find him, notice that he is a Jedi, and try to kill him. He is saved by Cere Junda, a former Jedi master, and they set off on a mission to find a Holocron named after Force-sensitive children.
At the time of The Mandalorian, Cal Kestis would be around 40 years old, so the aging Cameron Monaghan (from Shameless and who created the role for the game) would not be difficult. And that would be a very cool link. Given the popularity of Jedi: fallen order, that would be rather interesting for the fans. However, it might not be so beneficial if there aren’t bigger plans for Cal’s character in the bigger one. Star wars universe. But, if there is, that would be perfect.
Now these are just Star wars Jedi cannon that fans know about. There are so many Force carriers that could appear, good or bad. So who knows what awaits us in the last three episodes of The Mandalorian Season 2.
